MODULE 8: Getting Additional Support
0/1
Tweak It Yourself (TIY)

Welcome to this lesson! In this session, you’ll learn how to edit text and headings on your website using the visual editor.

We’ll cover how to:

  • Edit existing text

  • Add new text blocks

  • Insert and organize headings

  • Understand heading levels

  • Save or publish your changes

Let’s jump in! 👇

🖱️ STEP 1: Click on the Text You Want to Edit

To change any text on your page:

  1. Simply click on the text within the page preview.

  2. The left-hand sidebar will automatically update and display the same text.

  3. You can now edit the text directly from the sidebar.

✏️ For example, if your heading says “About Us”, you can change it to “About Our Company” instantly.

💬 STEP 2: Edit Other Text Blocks the Same Way

To edit any other paragraph:

  • Click the text → Edit in the sidebar.

  • Changes reflect instantly on the right.

  • If it hangs a little, it could be due to internet lag—just give it a moment.

✔️ Pro Tip: Make sure to pause and let the changes load fully before moving on.

➕ STEP 3: Add New Text Blocks

Want to add a completely new paragraph? Here’s how:

  1. Click the Add Element button.

  2. Choose the Text element.

  3. Drag and drop it where you want it to appear.
✅ Watch for the thick pink line—that shows the drop location.

  4. Release the mouse → Edit the new text in the sidebar.

🧠 Tip: Use this when you want to explain a section more, like adding “Our Mission” below “Why Clients Choose Us”.

🔠 STEP 4: Add or Change Headings

To add a new heading:

  1. Click Add Element → Choose Heading.

  2. Drag it where you want it to go.

  3. In the sidebar, choose the heading level:

    • H1 (Heading 1): Page title – largest.

    • H2 (Heading 2): Section title.

    • H3, H4…H6: Subheadings, smaller as the number increases.

🧭 Example: If you’ve used H2 for “Why Clients Choose Us”, your subheading under that should be H3 to keep things structured.

🌐 STEP 5: Why Heading Levels Matter (SEO Tip)

Heading tags help Google understand your page layout.

  • Heading 1 = Page title (only one per page)

  • Heading 2 = Major sections

  • Heading 3–6 = Sub-sections

🧠 Tip: Keep your structure clean — avoid skipping levels. Don’t jump from H2 to H4 unless you’ve used H3 in between.

🗑️ STEP 6: Delete Any Text or Headings You Don’t Need

Made a mistake or changed your mind?

  • Right-click the element → Select Delete.

  • Alternatively, click on the pencil icon next to the element, then right-click and delete.

💾 STEP 7: Save or Publish Your Changes

When done editing:

  • Click Publish to make the changes live.

  • If you’re not ready yet, click the down arrow next to “Publish” and choose Save Draft.

✅ This way, you can continue later without going live.

To see your edits live:

  • Click Preview after publishing.

🎉 You’ll see the updated text and headings applied instantly on your site!
