Transparent backgrounds are essential when showcasing logos—whether it’s your own or your clients’. This ensures your logo blends naturally with your website’s background, whether it’s white, blue, or textured.
🎯 Why Use a Transparent Background?
-
So your logo doesn’t appear inside a white box
-
Looks more professional on colored or image backgrounds
-
Makes client logos uniform when shown together
🛠 Step-by-Step: How to Make the Background Transparent
🔹 1. Open Your Logo in Photopea
-
Drag and drop your logo image into Photopea
-
If the logo already has a white background, we’ll remove it
🔹 2. Use the Magic Wand Tool
-
Select the magic wand from the toolbar (looks like a stick with sparkles)
-
Click anywhere on the white background around the logo—not on the logo itself
-
Press Delete on your keyboard
If nothing happens and you get an error, move to step 3.
🔹 3. Convert to Smart Object → Rasterize
Sometimes Photopea won’t let you delete pixels until you rasterize:
-
Right-click on the layer in the right sidebar
-
Click Convert to Smart Object
-
Then right-click again and select Rasterize
Now go back and click Delete on the white space again.
🔹 4. Clean Up Internal White Areas
-
Zoom in (
Ctrl++) -
Use the magic wand again to select inner white areas (like inside letters “O” or “P”)
-
Press Delete each time
-
Repeat until all white is gone
🧼 You Now Have a Transparent Logo!
Behind your logo, you should now see gray checkerboard boxes—that means it’s transparent.
🔹 5. Export as PNG
-
Go to File → Export As → PNG
-
Make sure transparency is preserved
-
Click Save
This is now your website-ready logo with no background.
